Discipline Procedures
You are expected to complete all assignments and participate in all classroom activities. Please do your best to promote a positive classroom atmosphere. Your behavior is based on your choices. If you make good decisions, good things will happen (great grades, a fun classroom). However, if you choose to make poor decisions you must understand that this will bring a negative consequence.
Consequences for Poor Choices.
Late Assignments:
*** I do not typically assign homework. Failure to turn in assignments usually results from a student choosing not to use their classtime effectively or a failure to complete makeup assignments.
*** Students will also be required to complete one section of the Read 180 Software Zone every 2-3 weeks.
After a missing assignment or an incomplete section of the Software Zone you will be required to come to Mr. Gillig's Room during 6th Period Intramurals.
After three missing/late assignments your parents will be notified and you will receive an after school detention.
Classroom Disruptions
*** Examples of classroom disruptions include consistently being off task, distracting other students or Mr. Gillig, using class time as social time.
Consequences:
1) Warning
2) Conference with Mr. Gillig/Phone call home
3) Teacher Detention (lunch or otherwise noted)
4) After school detention/referral to Dean of Students
Severe Classroom Disruptions:
*** Examples of severe classroom disruptions include bullying, name-calling, inappropriate language, inappropriate touching (hitting, shoving, kicking), destruction of property or theft.
Consequences:
1) Immediate phone call to parents
2) Teacher or after school detention
3) Referral to Dean of Students

Students:
Please do not hesitate to speak to me about any areas of concerns. It an be as simple as not understanding an assignment or needing to share a problem. If I do not know the answer I will set you up with someone (a counselor, Mr. Murphy or Mr. Boes) that can help you with your problem.
Parents:
I will be communicating with your parents/guardians throughout the course of the year. However, they are always welcome and encouraged to contact me if they have questions or concerns.
